Ellie is a one-year-old Blue Lacy dog that was based in Dallas, Texas. Her previous family lives there, and so did she until one sad event occurred. One day, Ellie was surrendered to a local shelter.

It was a tear-jerking scenario. Witnesses say that the only thing she could do at that time was to cling to the only item she had left. It was a giant fluffy teddy bear. It’s an unanticipated event since before the surrender, the family had done a lot of things to take care of this dog.

Ellie was given all her needed shots. She had undergone surgery and was equipped with a microchip.
After a few months, the family decided to dump her. In an instant, she had lost everything. The saddest part of this ordeal is that the shelter is known to euthanize dogs to free up space.

As a result of being scared, Ellie always cuddled with her teddy bear. Fortunately, her stay in that shelter wasn’t long. Ellie was taken in by the brother of Jennifer Jessup, a New York dog rescuer. They found Ellie online with the help of TAGG Rescue.

Jennifer’s friend went and picked up Ellie, took her to a boarding facility to bathe the dog. They made sure the paperwork was taken cared of. The dog was temporarily placed in a foster home before being moved all the way to Florida. When they tried to take a picture of Ellie with her teddy bear, she was fearful.

When the day arrived for her to meet her new adopter, TWD Transport helped drive her from Texas to Florida. The trip was exhausting for the dog, but the new owner was determined to cheer Ellie up. The new owner predicts that it’s going to take some time before Ellie becomes comfortable with the new living environment.
